🔹 Promotes Movement Breaks: Foster a positive classroom environment by introducing invigorating movement breaks. SensoryPie Sensory Circuit Cards make it easy to offer students quick, effective breaks, enhancing focus and engagement throughout the day.
🔹 Tailored for Primary School Ages: Specifically created for primary school-aged children, our cards provide a range of sensory experiences that support cognitive and physical development. The cards are colourful, engaging and designed to involve the child in the creation of the circuits meaning they are much more motivated to engage.
🔹 Beneficial for every child!: These cards are engaging and fun for every child but particularly helpful for children with sensory needs. Do you have learners who are wiggly, fidgeting, restless, anxious, distracted, full of energy, dysregulated, hyper-alert? Using the SensoryPie sensory circuit cards daily has demonstrated reduction in tricky classroom behaviours, supporting children to be calm & alert and ready for learning!
These cards were originally designed as a resource for children who have experienced early childhood trauma, in order to support them with whole body sensory regulation.
We would recommend printing the cards A5 and laminating each card so that you are able to use a dry wipe pen to write down the allocated time for each activity. This supports with transition to the next activity.
The cards include instructions so that any member of staff are able to pick up and go. The most important thing to remember is the order of the activities ALERTING > ORGANISING > CALMING.
Some children may need MORE calming than others, so consider lengthening the time spent or allowing 2 calming activities to end.
Most sensory circuits follow the same principle of alerting activities followed by organising and then calming.
SensoryPie circuit cards also include connection activities. The purpose of these cards are for children who may benefit from additional time spent connecting with a trusted adult/ keyworker. The idea being, that once children have completed the calming activities they should feel more open to connecting with adults. Not all children need these cards, and you absolutely do not need to use them as part of your circuits.
They may be most helpful for children who struggle with attachments due to trauma, family difficulties, SEMH needs or even children who are new to your setting.
Sure, we are fine with the cards being shared within your school setting. Thats what makes them a bargain, as one set of cards downloaded will help multiple children across your school!
We ask that you please please don't share these further than your school, but of course feel free to signpost others to our website. Every download goes towards big plans for SensoryPie (including a physical card game resource we are currently designing) and sensory equipment!
Some cards include equipment (trampette, gym ball, skipping ropes, scooter board)
However, most of the cards do not need specialised equipment and can be used with items you will likely already have in your PE supplies. Also feel free to be creative and use what you have! :)
